MESSAGE TITLE: COMMITMENT

Referral Scripture: Daniel 6: 1-16
10 Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he went into his house (now in his roof chamber his windows were open toward Jerusalem); he continued to get down on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously….
16 Then the king gave a command, and Daniel was brought and thrown into the den of lions. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you constantly serve, rescue you Himself!” 17 A stone was brought and laid over the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing would be changed concerning Daniel. 18 Then the king returned to his palace and spent the night fasting; and no music or entertainment was brought before him, and he remained unable to sleep.

This man Daniel was so committed to God in a way that the Scripture tells us he prayed 3 times a day just like David. It also notable that the king on verse 16 said ‘Your God whom you constantly serve’. Many of us do come to church and pray but were are not constantly serving God, when you reach a level where you constantly serve God, when you cry unto God He will hear your cry, If it God you constantly serve, you committed to, you prioritise – God will also prioritise you in times of trouble. God will hear our cry when were committed to Him

Our commitment must be constant, we must not try to show commitment when only were facing challenges or when challenges come but God must always be our Priority, Daniel didn’t start to pray 3 times a day when He was about to face challenges but it was his lifestyle as the bible says ‘HE CONTINUED… AS HE WAS DOING PREVIOUSLY’ to pray 3 times, prioritising God must also be our lifestyle, not something we wait to do when were in trouble.

MESSAGE TITLE: COMMITMENT

SUBTITLE: LOVING GOD WITH OUR WHOLE BEING

Referral Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5-7
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Commitment mean to give your life for something you love, these are commands Moses gave to the Israelites because He understood that if they love God with all their heart, they will trust the Lord with their lives, they will also give the best on what they have to God. Where you heart is it where your riches are also. Anything that you love you are willing to give your life for it, John 3-16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
That a Total commitment, Love for something, you even give your life for it.

In the scriptures, we have Matias, people who died for their faith because they were committed to the Christian faith, they were willing to give their life for it, so shall it be with us – we must be so committed to our faith in a way that we can stand strong for it even in the presence of unbelievers. Unbelievers will take our faith serious once they see us committed or serious about our faith.
