Fear Part 3
Subtitle:
Fear of Lack
Our God has power over all situation, looking around at
what is happening currently in the world, the economy, lack of rain etc. We see
food prices going high, which can cause us to worry or to be afraid. Things
like that must not bring us fear for our trusts is not in things but our trust
is in God, our trust is not in Government, not
even in our jobs as our source, our jobs are just channels God uses to
bless us, our trust should be in God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above. So we can live our lives without fear.
It can happen as a child of God you find yourself trapped
in debt which can be a results of poor decision making, it can also happen that
you find yourself trapped in debt not by your actions example in our African
race many of us are born in struggling families where there is so much lack,
But even in those situation our approach must be different as children of God,
our God can change your situation instantly our God is a master of disasters.
In the Book of 2nd Kings 4: 1-7 , in this scripture we find
a widow finding herself with her two Sons being in debt from her dead husband,
in a situation she didn’t create. The creditors came and said they will take
her 2 sons and make them salves as a payment for debt done by her husband. This
woman went and cried unto the Prophet, something notable about this woman is
that she knew where to cry for help in a situation she found herself in, others
they go to wrong sources others even decide to leave the church assembly.
The woman cried unto
the Prophet, the Man of God asked what does she have in her house, the woman had
a small jar of olive oil Elisha told the woman to go to her neighbors, borrow
as many empty jars as she can, close herself and her two sons inside her house
than start pouring oil into the jars, when this woman obeyed the word of the
Prophet her oil was multiplied in many times. What we can learn from this
passage is that God can bless you beyond your situation, it doesn’t matter what
kind of situation you find yourself in, God can bless you beyond measures. What
we also need to know is that God blesses us to be a blessing to others, like
this woman, by her being blessed others also benefited as well.
In the book of Luke 4: 38 we also find a principle Jesus
gave for us to have more. That is when we give we will receive in a 4 way – (i)
in a good measure (ii) pressed down (iii) shaken and (iv) running over. That
how we will be blessed when we give. Givers gain , the person who gives gain,
this is true cause if we don’t give than there is nothing that will be in good
measure, pressed down, shaken and running over, as the verse said IT SHALL BE
GIVEN TO US AS W GIVE. 0 multiplied by zero = zero, even zero multiplied by
trillion it still zero. God will multiply basing on what we have given just
like we saw in the book of 1 kings 4, the widow - her little oil and flour -
baking for the Prophet, God multiplied it in a good measure
We also see the Principle of harvest on 2nd Corinthians
9:7-8 every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able
to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in
all things, may abound to every good work.
God loves a cheerful giver, God doesn’t want us to feel
oppressed when we give, thinking as I’m giving this money as an offering what
am I going to use to buy this and that, we must know God will take care of
other things. God has promised to bless us. There are two kinds of people that
God doesn’t blessed, (i) Lazy people: Proverbs 13:4 the soul of the sluggard
craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. God
never blesses lazy people , these people craves , if you can notice they craves
a lot but do nothing (ii) Stingy People , people who think about themselves
only, who have no good thought and actions about others, some even about
themselves, they can be stingy even to do what will benefit themselves.
Jesus taught about stewardship using a parable in Mathew
25:15. We need to know brethren that everything we have we are stewards for it,
singabaphathiswa bazo, from our houses, cars and even children, that why God is
also concerned about the way we raising our children. Therefore all our
material things must be used in a Godly way. The fear of lack must depart from
us, if we live knowing that God is our source and everything we have belongs to
him we shall have no fear for He is Jehova Jireh.
