MESSAGE TITLE: COMMITMENT

SUBTITLE: LOVING GOD WITH OUR WHOLE BEING

Referral Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:5-7
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Commitment mean to give your life for something you love, these are commands Moses gave to the Israelites because He understood that if they love God with all their heart, they will trust the Lord with their lives, they will also give the best on what they have to God. Where you heart is it where your riches are also. Anything that you love you are willing to give your life for it, John 3-16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life
That a Total commitment, Love for something, you even give your life for it.

In the scriptures, we have Matias, people who died for their faith because they were committed to the Christian faith, they were willing to give their life for it, so shall it be with us – we must be so committed to our faith in a way that we can stand strong for it even in the presence of unbelievers. Unbelievers will take our faith serious once they see us committed or serious about our faith.

The scripture says to love God with all our soul (mind and emotions) when you love something you also express it with your emotions and your mind be sold to what you love. When it time to worship, a worshiper calls us to lift up our hands and worship God , the worshiper is asking us to express our emotions as we are emotional beings.

Mostly we use our emotions for wrong reasons, a believer will hear worldly music and dance all the styles telling others how much He or she love this Song but come to church a person will be worshiping like it a funeral because we think God doesn’t need those emotions, doesn’t our God deserve the best? The bible says 2 Samuel 6:14-16 14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

Dance in the presence of the Lord, we must be passionate when it comes to Loving God. As the bible says to love him with all our soul
Love your God with all your strength – strength in this verse is also speaking about what you used your energy to produce, if you have a car, it shouldn’t be just for you and your family but let it also help in the church, everything that you have from your strength you must show love to God with it.

Our children, if they are not worshipping our God we need to pray and try by all means to bring them in the presence of the Lord. If you’re a believer your child or children must know our Father or Mother is a committed believer. Some children don’t know that when their parents rebuke them and bring them to church it because of love, yes it because of love. Children must see and learn about full commitment to God from they parents

These are things we need to drill into our children, we must teach them to love God not cartoons. Let them know God is the greatest, not Superman. Love is taught. Moses says we must teach and repeat these things unto our children, teach them to pray, have a day where we give our children a chance to pray. Teach our families even if they are not saved to pray daily as this will also show them how committed and serious we are about God. We are not doing it to be seen by people but to lead by example as King and Priests.

Wherever we are we must show that we love God with all our heart, soul and body including our strength – that is a total commitment to God, if we are totally committed to God other things that worry us will just happen automatically. As priorities and take care of the matters of God He will be taking care of us especial our blind spots

Deuteronomy 11:13-14 13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, 14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil

There are things that will only happen in our lives once we start showing our commitment to God, all these blessings will start to take place in our lives once we obey the word of God, which will be the results of loving the Lord our God with all our Heart, spirit, soul and body. David in his busy schedule as a king he still prayed 3 times a day that shows how committed He was to God.
